Monthly Meeting Minutes for the Indian Motorcycle Riders Group

Daytona Beach #1949

Thursday June 5, 2025 – 6:30 PM ET

Houligan’s at Intl. Speedway, Daytona Beach

Officers present:

Ron Range, President; Fran Dougherty, Vice President & Membership Director; May Dougherty,

Secretary; Joshua Benham, Web Director

Volunteer Positions: Therese Davis, Activities Committee; Bruce Davis, Activities Committee

Officers/Volunteers absent: Tammy Kozinski, Treasurer; Steve Morris, Safety Director; Jeff

Duckworth, Activities Committee

Welcome, Pledge of Allegiance and Words from the President

Mr. Range called the meeting to order at 6:41 PM ET. In-person participation count was 15

attendees.

Approval of Minutes from Last Meeting

Mr. Range asked for a motion to approve the minutes of May 1, 2025, as presented on the

website. Joshua Benham made a motion, seconded by Jim Hinzman. Motion passed.

President’s Report

Mr. Range reported on the following:

 Reminder that July’s meeting will be taking place on Thursday July 10 instead of July

3.

Upcoming Rides:

o Saturday June 14 ride to Valient Air Command in Titusville, Ron Range leading.

KSU 9:30 AM from Daytona dealership. Ride in coordination with the Palm Bay

and Sanford IMRGs.

o Sunday June 22, Steve Morris will be leading a ride. The destination will be lunch

and will be announced soon.

o Additional rides throughout July have been posted on the IMRG website

calendar. In the summer months rides will start earlier to avoid peak heat hours.

Vice President’s and Membership Report

 Mr. Dougherty reported there are no new members at this time.

 Mr. Dougherty also gave an overview of the IMRG event in Maggie Valley NC, The

Gathering, that took place at the end of May. Several IMRG 1949 attended, and the

state of Florida was well represented.

Treasurer’s Report

 Ms. Kozinski was absent, and Mr. Range reported on her behalf. No further updates

at this time except that he was refunded for the purchase of the IMRG canopy/tent

in March.

Action Items:

Follow-up on Wells Fargo funds recovery and PayPal payment option on our

website.

Secretary Report:

 Ms. Dougherty debriefed on the Saturday May 3 rd , International Female Ride Day.

Several members who attended the ride commented and it was agreed that for

2026 IMRG 1949 will plan its own ride.

Web Director’s Report:

Mr. Benham had no updates at this time.

Safety Director’s Report

Mr. Morris was absent.

Activities Committee’s Report

Ms. Davis reported on the following:

 Upcoming “destination” rides, which have been posted on the website. We have rides

planned until July. There are other events in the planning process for the Fall and early

Winter (charity ride, Christmas party)

 Mr. Davis also reminded members that in the Summer, rides will start earlier to avoid

excessive heat, and recommended riders to stay hydrated.

Action Item: report at next meeting: Mr. Davis will find out about the Rider’s Training

course at Harley Davidson at Destination Daytona, as there are many members interested in

participating.

Final Comments and Adjournment

Mr. Doug Mayes invited members to attend a concert on August 15 at the Daytona

Bandshell music venue, where his band will be playing.

Not being any further business, Mr. Range adjourned the meeting at 7:39 PM ET.
