Monthly Meeting Minutes for the Indian Motorcycle Riders Group

Officers present:
Fran Dougherty, President & Membership Director, Ron Range, Vice President, May
Dougherty, Secretary, Therese Davis, Treasurer, Jeff Duckworth, Marketing Director.
Volunteer Positions: Therese Davis, Activities Committee, Bruce Davis, Activities Committee
and Ride Leader, Jeff Duckworth, Activities Committee and Ride Leader.
Officers/Volunteers absent: Joshua Benham, Web Director, Steve Morris, Safety Director.
Welcome, Pledge of Allegiance and Words from the President
Mr. Dougherty called the meeting to order at 6:44 PM ET. In-person participation count was
25 members. Mr. Dougherty welcomed members present.
Approval of Minutes from Last Meeting
As the meeting minutes for August have not been posted on the website the approval
motion will take place at the October meeting along with the September minutes.
President’s Report
Mr. Dougherty reported on the following:
Weather will be cooling off, and our riding season is kicking off with Biketoberfest.
Breakfast rides are a good format for our summer rides.
9/27 Jacksonville First Coast IMRG has organized a ride to Savanah in support of
their chapter. Finesse the Challenger is the President and has restarted this IMRG
chapter.
Tom T-n-T (Tally) is now President of the new IMRG Treasure Coast chapter #2005.
Their inaugural ride is this Saturday 9/5. Details are posted on our FB page.
Fundraiser to benefit Folds of Honor. Our chapter will ride on Saturday 9/19, and
our dealership will provide lunch and a 20% discount that day. Suggested donation
is $10.
Upcoming event: Jack Daniel’s Owners Ride (October 1-3) in Chattanooga, TN. There
will be an Indian Ladies First ride on Thursday 10/1. Our group has a chat for those
attending to communicate before and during the event.
Upcoming Biketoberfest (October 15-18). The event will kickoff on Wednesday
10/14 with a Bike Night at Racing’s North Turn.
Membership Report
Mr. Dougherty mentioned that our chapter currently has 64 members and started a
round of introductions for new members present.
Vice President’s Report
Mr. Range reported that he is making poker chips to commemorate events like
Biketoberfest and Bike Week. (400 for 1949 and 150 for Biketoberfest)
Reminder that the October meeting has been changed to the 8 th due to leadership
attending Jack Daniel’s event. Meeting will take place at the deck area at Houligan’s.
Treasurer’s Report
Ms. Davis reported on the current available funds in our bank account and our t-
shirts and patches inventory.
At this time there is no available information whether we will receive funds from the
Beach Cleanup event sponsored by Starbucks last month.
Future expenses include the IMRG chapter Christmas party in December.
Secretary’s Report:
Ms. Dougherty announced that there will be a presentation at the end of the
meeting pertaining the women in IMRG Women Riders Subcommittee results.
Indian Ladies First and Chattanooga IMRG #1985 are organizing a Ladies Ride during
the Jack Daniel’s event week (October 1)
Bike Week Ladies Ride on Sunday March 7, 2027.
Marketing Director’s Report
Mr. Duckworth engaged members in a trivia game with prizes.
Our public Facebook page is exploding.
Recommendation to take advantage of IMC’s Elite Status for IMRG members.
Web Director’s Report:
Mr. Benham was absent.
Safety Director’s Report
Mr. Morris was absent.
Activities Committee’s Report
Ms. Davis reported on the following:
Suggestions from cards: name tags for members for meetings and events.
Reminder of the Coast-to-Coast overnight ride to Cedar Key on September 12-13.
Biketoberfest preparations are underway. Kickoff is a Bike Night on 10/14 at
Racing’s North Turn (ride from dealership to Ponce Inlet). Our IMRG will do daily
rides which will be advertised by the dealership’s marketing dept. Main event is
ride on Saturday.
October 24 Dinner River Cruise in Daytona confirmed. There is a QR code on our FB
page to sign up. Registration is needed ($40 x person).
Breakfast at De Leon Springs State Park. Admission is free and there is a boat tour
available.
December 4 charity ride to Magnolia Manor Assisted Living facility. There will be an
Amazon wish list for donations.
Christmas Party on December 12. Mr. Dougherty asked members for donations.
Bring a $10 gift.
Planning for an April 18 or 28, 2027 Picnic at Fort Matanzas State Park in St.
Agustine.
Ride Leader’s Report
Mr. Davis and Mr. Duckworth reported on the following:
A recap of last month’s rides (August) which were well attended.
September rides:
9/12-13: Coast to Coast-Ormond Beach to Cedar Key. Meet up for sunrise
and breakfast at 6:45 am. Lunch in Crystal River. Dinner and sunset at
Cedar Key.
9/19: FoH ride: KSU 10 am from dealership.
October Rides:
Daily rides Thursday through Sunday with a 1 PM KSU, except for a
morning Corporate Ride on Saturday (Ormond Loop)
10/18: Bruce will be leading a ride to Minneola Brewery.
Special presentation
Ms. Dougherty presented on the IMRG Women Rider’s Blueprint document which has been
recently released by the IMRG Council. This document provides recommendations to
chapters to implement practices that will increase women satisfaction, membership,
participation and retention. The Blueprint is the result of the two surveys targeting IMRG
women that was launched in the previous months. The women spoke and the IMRG took
note and responded. Daytona Beach will be implementing some of the recommendations.
