Monthly Meeting Minutes for the Indian Motorcycle Riders Group

Officers present:
Fran Dougherty, President & Membership Director, Ron Range, Vice President, May
Dougherty, Secretary, Therese Davis, Treasurer, Jeff Duckworth, Marketing Director, Steve
Morris, Safety Director.
Volunteer Positions: Therese Davis, Activities Committee, Bruce Davis, Activities Committee
and Ride Leader, Jeff Duckworth, Activities Committee and Ride Leader.
Officers/Volunteers absent: Joshua Benham, Web Director.
Welcome, Pledge of Allegiance and Words from the President
Mr. Dougherty called the meeting to order at 6:34 PM ET. In-person participation count was
22 members and one guest. Mr. Dougherty welcomed members present and introduced Don
Jones, the new GM at Indian Motorcycle of Daytona Beach as a guest representing the
dealership.
Approval of Minutes from Last Meeting
Mr. Dougherty asked for a motion to approve the minutes of the June 4, 2026, meeting as
presented on the website. Paula Maxwell made a motion, seconded by Steve Morris. Motion
passed.
President’s Report
Guest speaker Don Jones introduced himself and shared plans and vision for the dealership,
which include expansion and increasing support for events in partnership with our IMRG. His
words were very well received.
Mr. Dougherty then proceeded to report on the following:
- Announcement of two presentations at the end of the meeting about IMRG events
that took place in June: the Durango Rendezvous (Fran Dougherty) and the
Gathering (Jeff Duckworth). - Reminder of the July 25 First Responders all day class in St Agustine, organized by
LAMA. - Upcoming events: Jack Daniel’s Owners Ride and Biketoberfest are both coming up
in October.
Membership Report - Mr. Dougherty mentioned that our chapter currently has 63 members, most of them
actively attending rides and events. - Round of introductions for new members present.
Vice President’s Report
- Mr. Range reported that he is working on making IMRG 1949 poker chips to
commemorate events like Biketoberfest and Bike Week. Poker chips will have our
logo and a QR code. He asked members present for approval on the amounts to
order.
Treasurer’s Report - Ms. Davis reported on the current available funds in our bank account, as well as our
t-shirt and patches inventories. - Expenses last month were registration of our chapter for the Folds of Honor online
fundraiser, and the purchase of a FoH flag.
Secretary’s Report: - Ms. Dougherty announced that next month there will be news pertaining the
women in IMRG Women Riders Subcommittee work.
Marketing Director’s Report
Mr. Duckworth mentioned the following: - IMC CEO Mike Kennedy has mentioned our chapter publicly at events and
interviews.
Web Director’s Report: - Mr. Benham was absent.
Safety Director’s Report - Mr. Morris reminded members to start getting hydrated before going on a ride and
throughout the ride as high summer temperatures can cause dehydration very
quickly.
Activities Committee’s Report
Ms. Davis distributed cards for members to write down ideas and/or suggestions for rides,
events and other topic relevant to the Committee. She then reported on the following: - Upcoming Summer Cookout event at our dealership on Saturday July 18. We will
set up our tent. - Updates on the FoH fundraiser beach clean-up event in partnership with Starbucks
which member Joshua Benham is helping organize. - Reminder of the Coast-to-Coast overnight ride to Cedar Key in September.
- Biketoberfest preparations are underway. Our IMRG will do daily rides from the
dealership.
Ride Leader’s Report
Mr. Davis and Mr. Duckworth reported on the following: - A recap of last month’s (June) rides.
- Saturday July 11 loop ride departing the dealership. Bruce leading. It will be a
shorter ride. - Sunday July 19 ride to Kelly’s Ice Cream in Oviedo. Meet at RaceTrac.
- Saturday August 1 Ride to Country Line Saloon in DeLeon Springs.
- We will plan to organize a ride to support FoH on Saturday September 19.
The Gathering Presentation by Jeff Duckworth
Mr. Duckworth presented a slide show and commented on the cool moments and rides
during the 3-day IMRG event that took place last month (June 11-14) in Clemson, South
Carolina. He debuted our new IMRG anthem “We Ride”.
Durango Rendezvous presentation by Fran Dougherty
Mr. Dougherty presented photos of the location, rides and events that took place at the Sky
Ute Resort & Casino near Durango, Colorado. The Rendezvous had about 300 bikes
attending. Highlights included the IMRG leadership summit with the attendance of IMC CEO
Mike Kennedy, a rodeo, a Folds of Honor Charity ride and a Banquet dinner and auction
hosted by Ambassador Riding Fish where CEO Mike Kennedy addressed the public.
