Monthly Meeting Minutes for the Indian Motorcycle Riders Group

Officers present:
Fran Dougherty, President & Membership Director, Ron Range, Vice President, May Dougherty, Secretary, Therese Davis, Treasurer, Jeff Duckworth, Marketing Director, Joshua Benham, Web Director.
Volunteer Positions: Therese Davis, Activities Committee, Bruce Davis, Activities Committee and Ride Leader, Jeff Duckworth, Activities Committee and Ride Leader.
Officers/Volunteers absent: Steve Morris, Safety Director
Welcome, Pledge of Allegiance and Words from the President
Mr. Dougherty called the meeting to order at 6:45 PM ET. In-person participation count was 22 members and one guest. Mr. Dougherty welcomed members present.
Approval of Minutes from Last Meeting
Mr. Dougherty asked for a motion to approve the minutes of the April 2, 2026, meeting as presented on the website. Joshua Benham made a motion, seconded by Ron Range. Motion passed.
President’s Report
Mr. Dougherty reported on the following:
- Members showed off the knives they made at the forging workshop last month in Gainesville.
- Recap of the International Female Ride Day ride on Saturday May 2. The event was successful and well attended with over 30 riders.
- Mr. Dougherty mentioned the upcoming Indian Riders Ghost Tour in Mobile Alabama. Several IMRG #1949 members will be attending.
- May 16: dealerships and IMRGs throughout the country are organizing a 125 mile ride to commemorate Indian’s 125th anniversary.
- Mother’s Day sale event at the Daytona Beach Indian dealership during the month of May.
- Announcement of the cancellation of the Florida Multi-Chapter Christmas party in December.
Membership Report
- Mr. Dougherty mentioned that our chapter currently has 62 members, most of them actively attending rides and events.
Vice President’s Report
- Mr. Range had no updates at this time.
Treasurer’s Report
- Ms. Davis reported on the current available funds in our bank account, as well as our t-shirt and patch inventories.
- She mentioned that during the Treasurer transition period last year, the Folds of Honor funds collected during the 2025 fundraiser, were not accounted for. These funds amount to $1,100.00 and will be used for the 2026 FoH campaign. The national FoH event will be on September 19.
- Mr. Benham has mentioned that his employer (Starbucks) will be able to match donations for FoH. Indian Corporate has not disclosed yet that there is a website to register IMRG chapters so that they can start donating.
- We are working on acquiring a side panel for our chapter tent. Brave Wolf Customs has offered support in the design and making process.
Secretary’s Report:
- Ms. Dougherty thanked everyone for supporting the May 2 International Female Ride Day, with a shoutout to our ride leaders.
Marketing Director’s Report
Mr. Duckworth mentioned the following:
- We have reached 2,000 followers on our chapter’s public Facebook page.
- Mr. Duckworth started a brief quiz game with members.
- We have more Tucker stickers.
- Online support of Jess Jodoin’s attempt to break a record of the first female to ride across 48 states in 6 days, roughly 7,000 miles.
Web Director’s Report:
- Mr. Benham asked members to reach out to him if they had feedback on our chapter’s website.
Safety Director’s Report
- Mr. Morris was absent.
Activities Committee’s Report
Ms. Davis reported on the following:
- Next week’s Ghost Riders Tour ride to Mobile.
- Still time to book a room at the Serenity hotel for the Coast-to-Coast overnight ride to Cedar Key in September (deadline is 6/1).
- Annoucement of the date of our IMRG Christmas party. It will take place on Saturday December 12 at Houligan’s International Speedway (3 to 7 PM ET).
Ride Leader’s Report
Mr. Davis and Mr. Duckworth reported on the following:
- Report on the April 25 ride to celebrate Vroom Old Man’s achievement.
- Summer month rides will be shorter and starting earlier.
- Next May ride is a breakfast ride on the 31st.
- June will be a busy month with members attending out of state events such as the Gathering and Durango Rendezvous.
